...our favorite costumes from around the web

If you have the nerve (and the body) for this costume, you’re gonna be turning a lot of heads. And you’d better hope for warm weather!

We’re not positive, but we’re pretty sure this mummy costume was hand-crafted from a roll or two of Charmin. Turned out pretty good though!

Great movie, great costumes!

This costume requires a little fancy engineering, but it certainly catches the eye! She rigged up a shower curtain using a hula hoop, and added a shower nozzle. Dress the part with a towel and you’re good to go!

This one made us laugh! Someone dressed up their dog as a UPS truck! Pretty easy concept—just cut up a cardboard box and add paint.

Here’s a fabulous rendition of the famous painting “American Gothic,” by the artist Grant Wood. Complete with overalls, pitchfork, and sour faces!

Very funny and creative costume for a couple. He dressed up as a Christmas tree (green clothes, tinsel, ornaments), and she dressed as an angel and sat on his shoulders!

Awww—how cute! This guy dressed up like a fisherman and his baby is the “catch of the day.”

Now that’s a simple but eye-catching costume for your pet. Of course, your pet needs to have black fur (and we think this would be even better on a cat!). Simply attach a piece of white fur to a couple pieces of elastic and slip it on. Cute and funny!

You can make this costume pretty easily. All you need are a couple of pieces of posterboard attached to straps, and enlarged copies of an iPod (a copy shop can make large color photocopies for you). Simple but creative!
